Inspiration

Education is an integral part of everyone’s life. Students are frequently perplexed about how they should approach their studies to gain better comprehension and learning. Well, the most typical path is to study alone. However, many people become easily bored, tired, or confused when studying alone. Many times, students don't have anyone to answer their doubts or any group to study with. This inspired us to create StudyQuill, an all-in-one platform that helps students get what they need(whether its supplies, notes, tutoring help, etc.) in order to succeed in their education.

What it does

When the user arrives to our website, they will be greeted by the landing page. This will give them a little bit information about our platform as well as give them an opportunity to sign up or login. After this, they will be taken to the main page, where they can access various features that the website has to offer such as posting notes, finding study partners or group studies, getting tutoring/questions help, buying essential school supplies, etc. On StudyNexus users can:

  • Ask their questions and get an answer from other students.
  • Join the study groups and discuss with other students.
  • Buy school supplies directly from the site.
  • Get rewards for every answer you write.

How we built it

  • Frontend: React Js
  • Backend: Appwrite
  • Styling: ChakraUI and Tailwind CSS

Challenges we ran into

  • One of our teammates was located in a different time zone, so it was a bit difficult to collaborate
  • Implementation of certain technologies was a bit difficult as were using them for the first time.
  • Coming up with a feasible idea that could be implemented within the given time frame.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Helping each other out and working together as a team
  • Completing the project in the given time frame despite schedule conflicts
  • Using the minimalistic design, which makes the website easy to use
  • Using Appwrite for the backend

What we learned

  • Efficient collaboration with other developers
  • How to build a functioning full-stack application
  • Using Tailwind CSS and Chakra UI
  • Using Appwrite for storing data and for user auth.

What's next for StudyNexus

  • Building a mobile app for the project
  • Adding more features
  • Increasing user optimization by utilizing ML and AI

Built With

  • appwrite
  • chakra-ui
  • react.js
  • tailwind-css
