Inspiration

Our main inspiration was seeing our classmates struggle with school work without the right help or support.

What it does

StudyNEST will be a learning platform where users can find videos and resources that will help them understand a subject and be able to advance and learn. We also wanted to make chat rooms for users to be able to help each other and work together on different subjects.

How we built it

Me and my teammate used HTML and CSS mainly to make this. We also used a lot of code.

Challenges we ran into

Several times during the process we would encounter problems such as trying to get a button to take you to a form, adding backgrounds, styling with CSS, and hundreds of other problems that we overcame through trial and error or finding equal or even better alternatives.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I think we are both proud of the website as whole, to be able to make all that in one and as beginner high schoolers who have never done a hackathon before is a really amazing achievement for the both of us. I think out favorite accomplishments would be the navigation bar which came out amazing and the button which took me a long time to make

What we learned

During these past days of CruzHacks both of us have learned a lot, from being total beginners with little to almost no experience to being able to write all this code in both HTML and CSS. We learned a lot from the workshops that were provided to us to just googling stuff which helped a lot. Over the past week or so both of us have learned how to make a basic website and even style that website to a point where we were both incredibly happy with it. More specific we learned to make lists, navigation bars, pages , etc on HTML and how to change colors, how to add padding, and how to use ids and class.

What's next for StudyNEST

I think that we will probably continue to make improvements to the website. As we gain more knowledge in coding we will be able to add cooler and more impressive stuff such as the chatroom idea that we had!
