StudyMate — Student Voice Assistant
Inspiration
Students often have multiple assignments, coding practice sessions, exams, and personal goals to manage. It can be difficult to decide what to do first and stay organized. We created StudyMate to make planning study tasks simpler and less overwhelming.
What it does
StudyMate is a student-focused task-planning web application that helps users organize their daily study activities. Users can add tasks, request a simple study plan, view their priorities, and mark tasks as completed through an easy-to-use interface.
How we built it
We built StudyMate as a lightweight web prototype using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The application provides a conversational-style interface and task-management features. We published the project using GitHub Pages so users can access the demo through a web browser.
Challenges we faced
One challenge was turning a simple idea into an accessible, easy-to-understand interface. We focused on keeping the experience straightforward so students can concentrate on their tasks instead of spending too much time organizing them.
What we learned
Building StudyMate helped us understand the process of developing a web application, managing project files with GitHub, deploying a live website, and thinking about real student productivity problems.
What's next
We would like to improve StudyMate by adding more personalized study plans, reminders, persistent task storage, and more capable voice interactions in future versions.
Conclusion
StudyMate is our first step toward making student productivity tools simpler and more approachable. Our goal is to help students turn overwhelming study intentions into small, manageable next steps.
