StudyMate

Inspiration

The inspiration behind StudyMate sprouted from recognizing the unique struggles faced by students with ADHD in organizing and comprehending study materials. The goal was to create an inclusive and supportive tool that not only corrects notes but also provides personalized suggestions to enhance learning experiences.

What it does

StudyMate is an innovative application designed to assist students with ADHD in their study sessions. It utilizes AI algorithms to correct notes, offering real-time suggestions for improvements. The app customizes study materials, creates interactive study guides, and tracks progress to optimize learning strategies for each individual user.

How we built it

Study Mate was created using NextJS and MathPix API to change handwriting into text. We added OpenAI for suggestions for students and teachers to use the app together. We also used Google Firebase to upload PDFs.

Challenges we ran into

During this hackathon, the greatest challenge all the team members encountered was the time constraint. With the limited size of two members, which led to difficulties in managing time effectively and coping with unexpected issues. Fortunately, with collaborative efforts and sharing responsibilities, the team managed to navigate through these obstacles, eventually ensuring a flawless completion of the project.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our team's main goal in the hackathon was to make our idea real. While we're proud of what we've done, our proudest moment was learning how to turn our idea into reality. We faced challenges, but we're really happy we could overcome them all. And creating StudyMate is a big achievement for us that we're proud of!

What we learned

We learned how to use new tool like MathPix. We also explored new tools for better app performance and learned about web sockets. Managing time constraints, teamwork, and staying motivated were key takeaways. Additionally, workshops expanded our knowledge, and engaging with sponsors gave us insights into job opportunities.

What's next for StudyMate

We see potential for enhancing our project on a larger scale, offering additional activities for students and teachers to create more engaging learning experiences. This serves as a promising starting point and could revolutionize education in the future.
