Inspiration
As a student, I often struggled to understand complex concepts from textbooks and online resources, especially during exam preparation. I wanted a tool that explains topics in very simple language and gives exam-focused summaries. This idea inspired me to build StudyMate AI.
What it does
StudyMate AI is a learning assistant powered by Gemini 3. Students can ask questions about any topic, and the AI explains it in simple, easy-to-understand language. It also generates short summaries, key points, and exam-ready explanations.
How I built it
I built this project using the Gemini 3 API through Google AI Studio. I designed prompts that guide Gemini to act like a friendly tutor, focusing on clarity, simplicity, and exam relevance. The application uses Gemini’s reasoning and language understanding capabilities as its core feature.
What I learned
Through this project, I learned how to effectively use Gemini 3 for educational use cases, prompt design, and building AI-powered prototypes quickly using AI Studio.
Challenges
The main challenge was controlling the output to always remain simple and student-friendly. I solved this by refining prompts and testing multiple variations to get consistent results.
