Inspiration:-As students, we often find ourselves overwhelmed by lengthy notes, scattered PDFs, and last-minute exam pressure. During our own preparation, we realized that a lot of time is wasted just figuring out what to study instead of actually understanding the concepts.

This inspired us to build StudyGenie AI — a tool that acts like a smart study companion, helping students focus on learning rather than struggling with unorganized material.

What it does:- StudyGenie AI helps students turn their study materials into clear summaries, important exam questions, and interactive viva practice. Users can upload PDFs, and the system instantly simplifies the content, highlights key concepts, and supports smarter, faster revision.

How we built it:- We designed StudyGenie AI as a simple yet powerful web application.

Challenges we ran into:- One of the main challenges we faced was extracting clean and structured text from different types of PDFs, as formatting varies widely and often includes unwanted elements.

Another challenge was generating accurate and meaningful summaries and questions using AI. We had to experiment with prompts and refine outputs to ensure the results were actually useful for students. We also faced difficulties in integrating the frontend with the backend smoothly, especially while handling file uploads and displaying AI-generated responses in real time. Additionally, managing performance was a challenge, as AI responses can take time, so we worked on making the user experience as smooth and responsive as possible.

Accomplishments that we're proud of:- We are proud of building a functional AI-powered study assistant that can take raw study material and transform it into useful learning content within seconds.

What stands out for us is that we didn’t just create a concept, but a working solution that actually helps students save time and study more effectively. From handling PDF uploads to generating summaries and questions, we were able to integrate multiple components into a smooth and usable experience. We are especially proud of the simplicity and practicality of the project, as it solves a real problem that we and many other students face daily.

What we learned:- Through this project, we learned how to integrate AI into a real-world application and use it to solve practical problems faced by students.

We gained experience in handling unstructured data like PDFs, designing effective prompts for better AI responses, and building a smooth connection between frontend and backend systems. We also learned the importance of user-centric design, performance optimization, and teamwork while developing a complete working solution under time constraints.

What's next for StudyGenie AI:-In the future, StudyGenie AI can be expanded into a fully personalized learning platform. We plan to add features like voice-based interaction, where students can answer viva questions verbally, and the system can evaluate their responses.

We also aim to introduce smart revision plans, performance tracking, and adaptive learning that adjusts content based on the student’s strengths and weaknesses. Further improvements could include support for multiple languages, integration with online learning platforms, and mobile app development to make the solution more accessible. Our goal is to evolve StudyGenie AI into a complete AI-powered learning companion that supports students throughout their academic journey.
