Inspiration

Studying can be overwhelming, especially when students have limited time and large amounts of material to review. Students struggle to organize notes and prepare effectively for exams. We wanted to build a tool that makes studying faster, smarter and less stressful.

What it does

It is designed to help students turn their notes into clear summaries instantly. Instead of spending hours rewriting notes or searching for explanations, students can upload their study materials and receive structured summaries in seconds.

How we built it

We built StudyGenie using Python and Streamlit to create a simple and accessible interface. The application allows users to upload text files, enter their own API key, and generate AI-powered summaries. If an API key is not available, the system still provides a basic summary so the app remains functional for everyone.

Challenges we ran into

We were having trouble navigating Github and deploying it. Also, we ran into challenges while making the application in multiple places.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are happy that we could make our first running web Application in a few days without prior experience.

What we learned

We learnt that constant effort can truly make something incredible.

What's next for StudyGenie

In the future, we plan to expand StudyGenie with additional features such as quiz generation, flashcards, personalized study plans, and support for more file types like PDFs and images.
