StudyFlow AI
Your AI co-pilot that turns chaotic student life into focused, productive flow.
What I Built
StudyFlow AI is a complete web platform designed specifically for college students. It helps manage academic chaos with four powerful AI-driven tools:
- AI Lecture Summarizer: Upload PDF or paste notes → Get instant clean summaries, key bullet points, and interactive flashcards.
- Smart Scheduler: Input classes and deadlines → AI generates an optimized daily study schedule with Pomodoro blocks and smart breaks.
- Focus Mode: Full-screen Pomodoro timer with a real-time AI study coach that motivates you when you're distracted or stuck.
- Progress Tracking: Visual streaks, history, and energy insights to track your improvement.
Inspiration
As a student, I constantly struggled with messy lecture notes, poor planning, and losing focus while studying. Traditional tools don't adapt to real student life. I wanted to build something that actually ships fast and feels useful.
How I Built It
Built solo in under 7 days for LovHack Season 2 using modern rapid development tools:
- Frontend: Next.js 15 (App Router), TypeScript, Tailwind CSS + shadcn/ui
- Backend & Auth: Supabase (PostgreSQL + Authentication)
- AI Engine: Google Gemini API for summarization, scheduling, and motivational coaching
- Deployment: Vercel (one-click deploys)
The entire project was developed with heavy use of AI coding assistance to move from idea to working prototype extremely quickly.
Challenges Faced
- Integrating reliable AI calls with proper error handling under tight deadline.
- Making the UI feel polished and responsive on both desktop and mobile.
- Ensuring the core user flow (upload → summarize → schedule → focus) works smoothly for judges.
Learnings
This hackathon taught me how powerful modern AI tools have become for rapid product building. Shipping a full-featured, production-like app in one week is now realistic.
