Inspiration
Education is expensive. AI tutors like ChatGPT cost $20-50/month which can be unaffordable for many students worldwide. Meanwhile, traditional credentials don't prove actual knowledge. I created StudyDAO to democratize AI education through community funding and blockchain-verified learning.
What it does
StudyDAO transforms learning into a collaborative, verifiable experience:
- Study DAOs: Students form groups around courses (CS229, Calculus, etc.) and pool SOL to unlock AI tutoring credits AI Credits System: 1 SOL = 100 questions Voice Learning: Text-to-speech powered by ElevenLabs for auditory learners Progressive NFT Badges: Earn blockchain-verified achievements that prove real learning Collaborative Feed: See what others in your DAO are learning, upvote questions, build together
How I built it
Frontend: Next.js 15, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS AI: Google Gemini 2.0 Flash API Voice: ElevenLabs API Blockchain: Solana (devnet) for DAO treasuries and NFT credentials Deployment: Vercel with custom .tech domain
Challeneges:
Credits System: Designing an economic model where 1 SOL = 100 AI questions that's fair and sustainable Progressive NFTs: Creating a badge system that tracks learning milestones
