Inspiration

We felt like we had more potential to succeed in hard classes when we have a good community to study with and support each other's learning. We chose to answer the problem, "what if we had a groupchat for every class already waiting for us?"

What it does

Studycircle allows you to import your class schedule and instantly join groupchats across sections with the same professor and chat within them, schedule study meetups, and quickly share notes and documents with each other.

How we built it

We used Next.js and Supabase for our tech stack with the OpenAI SDK for secondary features.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into a lot of issues with scope and we had to make quick decisions on what to add/remove during the final hours.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of pulling together an abstract idea into a cohesive and ready-to-use solution, and communicating really well along the way.

What's next for StudyCircle

In the future, we would like to ask cal poly admin if they would allow us to use Canvas OAuth which would allow us to easily import classes without the use of a screenshot and make onboarding 10x easier. Also, we would love to have it on the appstore as the app was primarily intended for mobile.
