Inspiration

The frustration of digital fragmentation and the desire for a unified, voice-first study sanctuary.

What it does

StudyBuddy is a multimodal, voice-first learning companion designed to help students overcome study fatigue, stay focused, and retain information efficiently. By bridging smart voice agents (Alexa+) and modern web interfaces through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), StudyBuddy turns study sessions into an interactive, hands-free dialogue.

How we built it

The architecture bridging Flask, the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, SQLite/DynamoDB persistence, and Google Gemini / Bedrock AI.

Challenges we ran into

Overcoming text-to-speech engine pronunciation of raw markdown symbols and handling token limits for complex STEM queries.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

we achieve to make integrate with AWS Cloud Architecture through template.yaml and Lambda handler studybuddy_lambda.py for automated cloud deployment.

What we learned

The immense power of standardized agent protocols like MCP for connecting autonomous voice agents to specialized backend tools.
