Inspiration
Many students struggle to balance assignments, study sessions, and personal life, often leading to stress, missed deadlines, and burnout. We wanted to create a tool that makes managing schoolwork easier and more engaging. StudyBuddy was inspired by the idea that technology can simplify daily student life, while promoting productivity and mental well-being.
What it does
StudyBuddy is an AI-powered student planner that:
Automatically schedules study sessions and tracks assignments based on priority and due dates.
Provides personalised AI recommendations for study techniques and resources.
Offers a “Focus Mode” that gamifies study intervals to keep students motivated and on-task.
Integrates with calendars and reminders for seamless organisation.
How we built it
We used a combination of low/no-code tools and AI:
Glide for the app interface and interactive components.
Figma AI to design wireframes and UI prototypes.
ChatGPT to help generate workflow logic, study recommendations, and prompts.
Zapier for automating calendar and task notifications. This approach allowed us to quickly create a functional, polished product without heavy coding.
Challenges we ran into
Designing an AI recommendation system that felt personalized but simple for users.
Integrating automated reminders with multiple calendar platforms.
Balancing advanced features with a clean, intuitive UI for students of different ages.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Developed a fully functional, AI-assisted planner in a short time using low/no-code tools.
Created an intuitive, visually appealing interface tested with peers.
Built a system that adapts to different student schedules and learning styles.
What we learned
How to combine AI tools with low-code platforms effectively.
The importance of user-centered design and iterative testing.
Time management and collaboration techniques for a remote team project.
