🌟 Inspiration

Many students in rural areas struggle to learn because of language barriers, lack of good tutors, and boring text-only content. We were inspired to create a solution that feels like talking to a real teacher in your own language. That’s how our idea StudyBuddy AI – From Doubts to Confidence was born.

📚 What We Expect to Learn

Using RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) to connect textbooks with AI answers.
Building voice pipelines with Speech-to-Text (STT) and Text-to-Speech (TTS).
Making AI explain tough concepts in simple terms.
Example, Explain Newton’s 2nd Law in Tamil.

🛠️ How We Plan to Build It

Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Backend: Flask API to connect STT → Granite LLM → TTS.
AI: Granite LLM + Embeddings, STT, TTS.
Database: Vector DB (Chroma/FAISS) for knowledge, Oracle/SQLite for user progress.
Notifications: WhatsApp API for daily study reminders & health tips.

⚡ Expected Challenges

Preparing clean datasets from Tamil Nadu textbooks in multiple languages.
Making voice answers sound natural, not robotic.
Balancing accuracy vs. speed in doubt-solving.
Designing a fun UI so students don’t feel bored.

🔮 Future Work

Now it is only for TNSB students in future we extend this for all education board in their language.
Adding more features for students and schools.
We will develop own LLM for this specific tasks.
