What it does# 📘 Project Story: StudyBuddy
💡 About the Project
StudyBuddy is a simple and clean daily planner made specially for students. It helps students stay focused by creating daily study goals, tracking their progress, and feeling motivated. No logins, no ads — just a smooth and peaceful way to plan your day.
🌱 What Inspired Us
As students, we often get distracted and forget our daily tasks. Many apps are too complicated or filled with features we don’t need. We wanted to make something just for students, that is easy to use and works even without the internet.
🛠️ How We Built It
We used HTML and CSS to design a beautiful, mobile-friendly layout. Then we added JavaScript to make the planner interactive — like adding tasks, marking them complete, and saving progress using LocalStorage, so the data stays even after closing the browser.
We also added:
- A simple motivational quote section
- Light/Dark mode toggle
- A streak counter to keep students motivated
🎓 What We Learned
- How to structure a full project from idea to website
- How to use LocalStorage in JavaScript
- How to create a responsive layout for mobile
- Importance of good UI/UX design
🚧 Challenges We Faced
- Getting the layout to work on all screen sizes
- Saving user data without using any backend
- Making the UI both clean and interesting
- Staying focused during the limited hackathon time
But we kept learning, testing, and improving!
🙌 Final Thoughts
This project helped us understand how a simple idea can turn into a helpful tool. We’re proud that we made something useful for students like us. After the hackathon, we plan to add features like a Pomodoro timer and weekly planning.
Thank you for this opportunity! 🚀
