Inspiration
We were inspired to make a website based on a common problem students have, which is not having people to study with for their classes. In an attempted to bring together college students and improve their grades, we created StuddyBuddy. We also wanted to focus on mental health, allowing users with social anxiety and other issues to easily find a friendly environment to learn with.
What it does
StudyBuddy helps students find nearby students in the same class to collaborate on studying, sharing notes, and general class discussion.
How we built it
We used Wordpress to create the front-end of our website, and for the back-end, we used MongoDB and Javalin to store users and communicate over HTTP.
Challenges we ran into
We were short on time, as we had other plans during the weekend,
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Proud that even though we ran into lots of issues, we still have a some what working project we can show for.
What we learned
Prepare better before hand.
What's next for StudyBuddy
Making it into a mobile app for easier access.
