Inspiration

Students often struggle to stay engaged with text-heavy textbooks and forget what they study. We wanted to make learning more visual, memorable, and fun by turning lessons into comic adventures powered by AI.

What it does

Study Via Comics transforms textbook pages into interactive learning experiences.

Students upload a photo of their study material, and the platform:

📸 Extracts the content 🎭 Creates an educational comic 🎨 Generates comic illustrations 🎤 Adds AI voice narration 📝 Creates adaptive quizzes 📚 Saves everything into study packs for revision

Learning becomes storytelling instead of memorization.

How we built it

GPT-5.6 for concept understanding, storytelling, and quiz generation Codex to accelerate development and implementation Next.js for the frontend Supabase for authentication, storage, and database OCR to extract textbook content AI image generation and text-to-speech for comics and narration

Challenges we ran into

Turning educational content into engaging stories while keeping it accurate. Designing an AI workflow that feels fast and intuitive. Creating a polished user experience within the hackathon timeframe.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Built a complete AI learning workflow from upload to quiz. Made studying more engaging through comics and storytelling. Used GPT-5.6 and Codex to rapidly build and iterate on the platform.

What we learned

AI is most effective when broken into focused tasks instead of one large prompt. Great learning products combine strong AI with thoughtful user experience. Fast iteration with Codex let us spend more time refining the product.
