Inspiration

We and a lot of our friends have used a myriad of study methods. From the Feynman Technique to Pomodoro, we've juggled between new and trendy methods that have rarely worked for us individually - especially, ones that have been personalized. So we began: a quick quiz which has content that has been thoroughly researched and guarantees to unveil your perfect study method!

What it does

As a user, you answer 10 questions which determine overall what study method will work the best for you and your situation. Each answer the user picks is connected to various study methods whose "score" gets incremented. At the end of the quiz, the study method with the highest score is the result!

How we built it

We used VS Code, countless calls and text messages and a lot of research. HTML, CSS and JavaScript are used, with majority of the code written in JavaScript.

Challenges we ran into

Using JavaScript was a big challenge for me as I had never used it so extensively before. Scheduling calls was a challenge too because we live in different time zones. But eventually we got the hang of it and managed everything quite well! There was also a lot of minor debugging to do.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were both surprised by how accurate the quiz was for the both of us. Everyone who tried it, including friends, parents and siblings, said that it was absolutely spot-on! I guess that's the magic of researching well (shout out Tulsi!).

What we learned

We definitely learned a lot about JavaScript and improved our time-management!

What's next for Study Unveiler

  1. For now, users need to search their results on a search engine. We'd like to add a page that they get redirected to seamlessly once they get their result. Also, we'd like to allow users to explore other options for study methods that they could have gotten, on the same page.
  2. Since it is winter currently, the website has a snowflake effect. We'd like the change it up with each season; falling warm-colored leaves for autumn, flowers for spring and so on, just to keep the website fresh and new!
