Study Senses was born out of the idea that kids hate memorizing material. Rote memorization is tedious, boring, and a critical part of K-12 education. By leveraging the power of mnemonics and artificial intelligence, students can convert the material they need to study into AI-Generated songs. From the student’s desired material, OpenAI takes their text and converts it into song lyrics. These lyrics are then passed along to a third-party framework (We currently use Songr.AI) that takes the text and returns an mp3 song! These songs are then stored on-device, ready for practice whether the user is internet-connected or not. But, that’s just getting started. Leveraging Apple’s built-in speech recognition, users can quiz themselves to see how well they know their material. The user’s rendition of the song (or monotone repetition of rhyming lyrics) is converted against the locally stored text version of the song. Should there be a >75% match, the user has passed! Users are then rewarded for their hard work. At critical milestones, NFT’s are generated by Solana and given to the user to share with their teachers, parents, and friends. Great work, students! They can enjoy the release of dopamine, forming a habit, and can share their success with those around them, generating social contagion of our product. But that’s not all. We imagine a world where users can share and upload their songs, filtered by emotion (powered by hume), school, academic subject, and more. While we didn’t have enough time to fully build out these features (it is only <36 hours since ideation, after all!), our product will allow users to like songs from their friends, community at large, and share their own creations with the world. What We Have So Far In the past 36 hours, Kendrick and Lane have designed a high-fidelity figma prototype, two demo songs, a working mobile-application for iOS that can play, pause, rewind, fast forward, and quiz users on their knowledge of songs. The app can also generate song lyrics from a prompt, and we are working on expanding the actual iOS applications’ capabilities as you read this passage :). This project is minority-owned and operated.
