Inspiration
When brainstorming hackathon ideas, I really wanted to build something useful and I would personally use. As a student, a lot of time is spent on studying, so that's where Study Run began!
What it does
Study Run tests you on questions you're working on as well as encourages you to maintain a healthy lifestyle through exercise and mindfulness.
How I built it
I used Unity to create this game and coded it through Visual Studio using C#.
Challenges I ran into
I've only ever played around with Unity a few times, a couple of years ago, so I started off the project with very limited knowledge and experience. I think the biggest challenge that I faced was wanting to implement more than I knew, which was time-consuming to go back and fix the errors.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
While building this game, I faced several obstacles in code and the program. However, the satisfaction of overcoming the problems just made me want to jump up and down! I'm proud of what I created this weekend and am thankful for such a learning opportunity!
What I learned
I learned that I actually have a very strong interest in working with Unity! At first, it was frustrating, but after reviewing some of the language documentation and using other online resources, I managed to get the hang of it! I'll definitely be working with it more in the future!
What's next for Study Run
There are many more things I would like to add to my project, including varying the obstacles at each level, adding randomized tasks, and including a scoreboard.
