Inspiration

Changing subject enrolment on current study plans is a multistage process, requiring numerous inputs by students. This complicated process combined with an inefficient website makes the process of changing one subject time-consuming and frustrating. Our project aims to streamline the planning and enrolment process, making it as smooth and intuitive as possible for students.

What it does

Our project provides a graphical representation of a study plan for a course to the student. It's a better and more comprehensible way for students to visualize and plan out their course structure. Students can view all available subjects and details about them, such as estimated time commitment, topics they will study, etc. They will then make their choices and add subjects to their study plan above.

How we built it

We utilized JavaScript and react for the frontend and Node JS for the backend. Unfortunately, we were unable to complete the project due to the limited time we had.

Challenges we ran into

Our greatest challenge was that the limited time we had kept us from fully implementing every aspect of our desired final product.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our team's greatest achievement would be the quick identification of a common problem faced by many students, and the swift planning of a solution.

What we learned

We learned a lot about JavaScript and React during this short period, as we had to do quite a bit of research to find suitable methods to implement the features we had in mind. We were also able to realize our current limits, and we will work toward enhancing our knowledge and programming skills.

What's next for Study planner by Melbourne Anything

Our future actions would be to complete the project and learn as much as we can about planning and developing a software project.
