Inspiration

This was a group project that I was a part of for the Women Who Code Hackathon 2023! The theme was creating something in an area of social good. Our group picked accessible educational resources.

What it does

It connects students to tutors!

How I built it

We created a Next.js full-stack application and utilized Firebase as the database since everyone was in different time zones and we needed a cloud-based database. We chose Tailwind CSS to style it given that it's been used in a lot of modern applications.

Challenges I ran into

The biggest challenges were the two-week time crunch in creating an MVP as well as the massive time zone difference since I'm based out of the Pacific time zone and some team members were in Japan.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud that this project was one of the finalists in the hackathon!

What I learned

I learned the advantages Next.js had over regular React applications.
