Work In Virginia

Inspiration

In the existing environment where everybody knows our true identity, we can't really express our true and real feelings for others(for good as well) as that might result in altering our relations (if they take it wrong way), so we have come up with an idea of anonymity where no one knows who you really are.

Work in Virginia started with the idea of domain in mind - work-in-virginia.tech, which could not be completed!

What it does

It engages people to chat with each other anonymously using "Water Cooler", since most of the office conversations between colleagues are had around a water cooler!

The internal hackathons push people to be creative and engage in team-building activities as well as helping the company to grow with the fresh ideas!

How we built it

We built the server side rendering of the app, as well as the API using Fastapi in python. The chatroom was created with socket.io, and the internal hackathons are directly linked to firebase!

Challenges we ran into

Time constraint to add more features. The lack of time prevented us from hosting the site.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The chatroom using socket.io and Server side rendering of hackathons data! Authentication with firebase was fun as well. Working together as a new team, and completion of the project that we're collectively all proud of!
