Knowing that first-generation, low-income students struggle with certain aspects of school, we aimed to address an issue that these students and more struggle with: organization. In creating a study dashboard, our goal was to help all students organize their tasks effectively, and give them a way to access all needed resources on one website. With the mock website created on Canva, we aimed to use HTML, CSS, and Javascript to create our full website but found that we could not finish in the allotted time period, thus leaving us only with our pitch.
In doing this project, we learned that there are many design choices that come with building a website and that websites can be structured in many different ways. Additionally, we learned more about the specific issues that first-generation, low-income students face.
In the future, we plan to expand our website from what we have already built, using the demo from our pitch as a template.
