Inspiration
- We wanted a study timer that actually feels motivating and not just a countdown. Something that rewards consistency and makes study feel less boring
What it does
- Acts as a study companion helping encourage focus during study sessions
- Motivates the user to study until the timer ends to unlock a reward game( 5-minute breaks with mini-games (Wordle or Snake))
- Tracks study sessions and upgrades a virtual tree to show progress
- Displays motivational quotes, session data, and a tiered to-do list for goal tracking
How we built it
- Brainstorming a variety of ideas on challenges we face and what would improve our quality of life
- Using Figma, a collaborative interface design tool
- By prompting the built in AI in Figma, we were able to generate code to fulfill the goals of our project
- Implemented session tracking, tree growth progress, and game logic
Challenges we ran into
- Understanding how to use Figma to create our project
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Built a full study companion with game breaks and visual progress
- Created multiple tree types and progress tracking animations
What we learned
- How to navigate problem areas like debugging layout and logic issues
- How to prompt AI for specific code and design outputs
What's next for Study Buddy
- Expanding the mini games selection and tree types
- Add daily goals and a calendar to keep track of events
- Add relaxation music and link to personal Spotify
Built With
- css
- figma
- javascript
