Inspiration
Speed friending events are too forced and intense. We aim to create a more relaxed, social environment where students can work too
What it does
Enables students to easily organise study sessions together with other students
How we built it
We developed a webapp using CSS, JS, HTML for frontend, Python and Flask for backend, and some UCL APIs for authentication and querying available rooms
Challenges we ran into
We were all inexperienced in using Flask and struggled to understand the UCL API documentation, especially as the LibCal API had only been produced the day before we started using it
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Managed to authenticate the users using UCL API's and query all available places at UCL as well as creating a clean, functioning website
What we learned
How to collaborate well together and split tasks accordingly as well as handling callbacks in Flask
What's next for Study Buddies
Apply filters to rooms and sessions available to present what the user desires. Add extentions to link social medias in the app
