Inspiration
Notion is too complicated. We were yet to find an intuitive study app. The members of our team are all on our way to third year, and yet, we were unable to find an application that was intuitive to use to help in our studies. So, we decided to take their core idea and make it simpler so we could help people like us who have troubles navigating these bigger apps.
What it does
Study Assistant specializes in the servicing of students who have troubles studying in whatever topic they find themselves. With our intuitive yet simple design, we were able to make sure the application appeals to everyone, no matter how hard they may find to navigate other apps with this specialty
How we built it
We had built this application with the primary use of JavaScript. With the use of AI agents such as Claude, we were able to successfully build this app quickly and effectively. Lastly, we had utilized FireBase for the user authentication and to host the website.
Challenges we ran into
Initially, we had started with a different idea that we felt wouldn't have gone that far with the people we were helping. So, we had to pivot both our focus and ideas to quickly brainstorm a problem we, and many others, have had throughout the years. When we had discovered this problem, we had to start from scratch to make this project happen.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are happy that we were able to transition from one idea to another seamlessly as well as building a project that would benefit others that might have had the same problem as us
What we learned
We had gained experience not only working with front end (JavaScript and CSS) and backend frameworks (FireBase), but we also learned how useful and resourceful AI models could be as well as their contribution to the future of the computer science industry.
What's next for Study Assistant
The next things for Study Assistant would be getting feedback from users of our website to get information about features that could be possibly added; while we pursue ways to add a variety of properties while maintaining the simplicity of the app
