Inspiration
The inspiration for this project came from a combination of members of this team's need to allot time to study in multiple ways. These multiple ways include individually, in a group for accountability, in a group studying the same subject and more. The website whentomeet.com was also an inspiration for this project as we have been using it recently to schedule meetings in this Zoom environment.
What it does
The goal for this app was to allow the user to create a study planner that could be shared with friends also on the app. The user could view the times the friend has set aside to study and could see if they would be available for group studying if both parties wished. Additionally, a Pomodoro timing system would be build in in order to allow for small gaps of friends having fun in the middle of studying while maintaining accountability for the studying.
How we built it
We build the model of this app in Figma and the in progress version of this app in Android Studio with Java.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we ran into were that our team was not too experienced with app development and as a result could not build the app in its entirety. However, as we recognized this early on, we decided to build a Figma model first to be able to show our idea even if we wouldn't be able to implement it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our Figma model as it depicts our idea well and it looks very nice. Additionally we are proud of what progress we did manage to make on our app even though it is not complete.
What we learned
We learned that we need to learn some of the skills before the hackathon starts as it is difficult to learn and create everything all within the 24 hour hacking period.
What's next for Study and Plan
We plan to finish the app and hopefully get people using it and having fun with it!
