Instead of waiting for graduation, students actively build dynamic profiles centered on their projects, coursework, volunteer experiences, and portfolios. This enables them to articulate tangible skills long before their first job, providing a robust foundation for their careers. Furthermore, through Verified Credentials, StudentSphere facilitates integrations with educational institutions and MOOCs, allowing for the direct issuance of verified badges for completed courses, internships, and extracurricular achievements. This cuts down on resume fraud and instills confidence in recruiters regarding a candidate's genuine abilities.
Democratizes Mentorship & Networking: StudentSphere breaks down the traditional barriers to mentorship. Our intelligent Interest & Skill Matchmaking algorithms connect students with near-peer mentors, alumni, and seasoned professionals who offer invaluable guidance through one-off "office hour" chats or project-based support. We also facilitate the formation of Group Cohorts & Study Circles, enabling members to share resources, collaborate on mini-projects, and peer-review portfolios within focused micro-communities (e.g., "Women in Robotics" or "Climate Policy Debate Club"). StudentSphere incorporates an Offline-First & Lightweight App design principle to ensure profile updates and messaging are possible even over intermittent connections. We also prioritize a Multilingual Interface & Auto-Translation to support major languages and automatically translate content, ensuring that a student in Nairobi can network seamlessly with a mentor in Munich or São Paulo. How we built it

Our journey to bring this transformative platform to life commenced on May 30th, driven by a deep belief in empowering students worldwide. While the path to innovation is rarely straightforward, the foundational work that laid the groundwork for StudentSphere stands as a testament to dedication and forward-thinking development.
StudentSphere was meticulously crafted on bolt.new, a cutting-edge vibe coding platform. This choice was instrumental, allowing us to rapidly iterate and sculpt the intricate features that define the user experience. The agile nature of vibe coding on bolt.new facilitated a highly dynamic development process, turning concepts into tangible functionalities with remarkable efficiency.
For its robust and scalable foundation, StudentSphere relies on Supabase as its backend. Supabase, a powerful open-source alternative to Firebase, provides the necessary infrastructure for secure authentication, real-time databases, and storage, ensuring that StudentSphere can seamlessly manage user data and deliver a fluid, responsive experience. The integration of Supabase means that every student's profile, every connection made, and every opportunity discovered is handled with reliability and precision.
The core of this ambitious project was brought to life by two dedicated builders: Abdulahad Ishaq and Muhammad Munir Ishaq. Their combined vision, technical expertise, and relentless effort have been the driving force behind the platform's development. From the initial lines of code laid down on June 2th, we poured our energy into creating a system designed to unlock potential and foster global connections.
While the journey is ongoing and StudentSphere continues to evolve beyond June 27th (the initial development phase), the spirit of innovation and the commitment to empowering students remain at its heart. The story of StudentSphere's construction is one of embracing modern development tools, leveraging powerful backend solutions, and the unyielding dedication of its creators to build something truly impactful for the future of education and careers. It's a journey not yet finished, but one already marked by significant milestones and an unwavering commitment to its mission.
Challenges we ran into
Challenges We Faced: A Story of Relentless Pursuit Building StudentSphere has been a journey paved not just with innovation, but with a relentless battle against formidable challenges. There were moments that truly tested our resolve, times when the dream seemed poised to slip through our fingers, threatening to drag us down. Yet, it is in these very struggles that the true spirit of StudentSphere was forged.
One of the most agonizing trials struck us on June 8th. We were deep in development, pouring our hearts into the code on bolt.new, when suddenly, the unthinkable happened: we ran out of tokens. A cold dread washed over me, Abdulahad, as I realized the deeper issue our credit card had expired on June 5th. It was a truly touching moment of despair. For a fleeting second, I genuinely thought this incredible opportunity, this vision for empowering students, was going to pass me by. The thought was unbearable.
But I refused to let it happen. That moment ignited a fire. With no immediate way to replenish our tokens, I pivoted. I started to learn the basic concepts of React on the fly, leveraging every tool at my disposal, including the nascent power of AI with ChatGPT and Gemini, to keep the momentum going, to find workarounds, to ensure progress, however small. The sleepless nights began then, days blurred into a cycle of intense thought, questioning if this grand idea could truly be built by my own hands. There were days when tears, born of sheer pain in my head and overwhelming stress, fell unbidden from my eyes. That period was incredibly hard.
Just as we overcame that hurdle, another phantom menace emerged: my application suddenly crashed. The frustration was immense, the pain of tracing an elusive error through lines of complex code was almost unbearable. I scoured every file, every function, feeling the weight of the problem pressing down. But after relentless effort, in a moment of pure, unadulterated joy, I found the culprit. The problem lay hidden in my main.tsx file, a small, seemingly innocuous route that I had inadvertently tampered with. Removing it felt like shedding a massive burden, a hard-won victory in the silent battle against bugs.
Then came the grand ambition, and another humbling lesson: connecting to lingo.dev. I tried everything, every configuration, every trick I could find, but the errors were relentless, a seemingly insurmountable wall of technical debt. It was a painful realization, but a crucial lesson was etched into my mind: when working with external services like lingo.dev, especially for a large, multi-page platform like StudentSphere (which now boasts over 50 pages!), it is paramount to connect them at the very beginning of the build process, not later. This was a hard-learned lesson in architectural foresight.
Finally, the challenge of securing our domain, ionos. It was another source of immense stress. Days turned into a slow crawl as we grappled with validation issues. I discovered that the core problem lay in how I had initially structured our location settings. This struggle forced me to delve deeper, learning the intricacies of correctly writing location configurations. It was a painful wait, especially knowing that domain validation takes several days – which is precisely why StudentSphere hasn't yet gone live on its new domain; ionos is still validating it.
At the end of it all, these challenges, these moments of despair and the subsequent triumphs, are worth every tear and every sleepless night. This story, filled with grit and perseverance, will be a worth telling tale to my children in the future. And it will become an even more compelling narrative if, in the end, I stand as the winner of this hackathon. The journey to build StudentSphere is far from over, but every obstacle overcome has only strengthened our resolve and the very foundation of this inspiring platform.
