What inspired us to create this web application was make student life easier. When we are just starting the semester, walking to a teachers office, etc it is really difficult to do with blackboard. The reason being is because in blackboard it does not just show you your professors name, classroom, email, or office number. Us the students have to click so many buttons just to figure out where to go or who to contact, and we are tired of that. So why not just create what we want and that’s what we did. We created a web application that displayed the professor and class information on the front page. As well as just display the assignments that the student has coming up. The process of the build was a long one first we started with the design aspect in Figma, and we did a vote on whose design was more fit. Then we began to discuss what ide we wanted to use such a webpage or an app, and we went with webpage. The challenges we faced were pretty standard. Working with React was pretty okay but the problems we faced were pushing to the GitHub repository, and then we decided to just code on one laptop and create a database on the other. The accomplishments that were proud of throughout the project was hearing the feedback from other students stated how it was a great idea and the fact that we started with an idea and was able to put it into the world. What we learned from this project is definitely patience, and team work on being each others ideas to light and piggy backing off of each others ideas. It was a great experience being open minded. Next for StudentSpace is to continue to work on the project and eventually bring it to the schoolboard and see what they think of the idea and have it implemented.
