Inspiration

Our team, which consists of David Valencia, Gally Huang, Jason Liu, Yongkang Hu, was inspired by the multitude of websites we had to manage as students. Even bookmarks could get messy. What if there were more ways to organize your school workload?

What it does

This website features a Spotify player that can play your own playlists if you type in the ID. There's also a basic calculator that can handle arithmetic. Finally, there are two list tools. The "My List" list accepts two values that you type in that will be saved to the list. The to-do list will save tasks that can be marked off or deleted.

How we built it

We built this project with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. We deployed the project on GitHub Pages. We divided the work and worked our way to the end.

Challenges we ran into

Making our final product look nice was a challenge. We had to take inspiration from websites that had sleek designs. Another challenge we had was working with JavaScript. We're not very familiar with it, so we had to look for documentation and tutorials.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

For our first hackathon, we were proud of the final result. Without extensive knowledge of web development, we still managed to create a working website.

What we learned

We learned that working as a group was challenging. We had to manage roles, pull requests, and dividing the work. Sometimes a team member was busy, so we had to work with that problem.

What's next for Student Services

Next up for student services is more features. The calculator could be expanded, and there could be a chrome extension that makes this service more convenient.
