Inspiration

"My inspiration was my schedule and the time management workshop I went to at UCR. I realized that to have a more stress-free college experience, I needed to create a schedule that took in breaks as well as my activities. However, when I created mine, it took forever and it was so strict on time, that I was unable to follow it for a long time. "

What it does

"My program simplifies creating a schedule by asking simple questions regarding the event. My program also looks for the keyword "studying" to add 25-minute breaks within your studying time to allow for optimized studying."

How we built it

"I first broke the program down into making a simple scheduler before adding more complex features such as the built-in pomodoro timer."

Challenges we ran into

"Some challenges I ran into was how unexperienced I was at using my language of choice. C++ is a language I just started picking up and I found that it is harder to use than other languages such as java. C++ requires the programmer to list every step while Java runs some feature on its own."

Accomplishments that we're proud of

"I am proud to be able to create a scheduler that makes it simpler and takes into account my status as a student. With this, I reduce the headache some apps cause just to create a mediocre schedule."

What we learned

"I learned that when creating a program from scratch, I need to breakdown each step during the brainstorming. When I was brainstorming some ideas for my program, the reason why I chose the Student Scheduler was because I was able to break down each step when I was brainstorming ideas."

What's next for Student scheduler

"In the future, more student aiding features such as budgeting and sleeping will be added. Through this, more and more students will be able to use this program to help ease their stresses regarding their day-to-day schedule."
