Inspiration

Working in education software, I've seen some challenges that users face with accessing student information which is why I think a dashboard which includes all available information and summarizes it using AI can really help.

What it does

Takes all available information of a student from a learning management system and provides a dashboard which summarizes the most important aspects and allows the user to ask questions about the student.

How we built it

It is built using test data based on the Ontario standard curriculum for Elementary and Secondary students. This test profile student data is sent to Claude to summarize and present it in a meaningful way.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges included difficulties for allowing Claude to process the raw JSON data of the students, and also finding a way to create meaningful test data which can be used to test the accuracy of the generated student reports.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The included links that provide the actual raw data that the summary is based on is quite creative I think, as it deals with worries about AI hallucinations and allows users to verify all the content generated by Claude.

What we learned

I learned more about the Ontario school curriculum, and how it measures student success, as well as the kind of information which principals and teachers find useful to know about their students.

What's next for Student Profile Dashboard

Integrating it into a learning management system which is looking to use AI to provide better ways for teachers and principals to access student information.
