Student Portal

During the pandemic when everything went virtual, it was hard keeping track of emails, projects, social media platforms like LinkedIn, and assignments(Student Canvas). So, our app solves this problem.

Inspiration

We (student) experienced the issues with keeping track of our projects, emails, assignments, when the school modality switched to online/hybrid platform. So, what if all the apps' portals/links are in the same page? This way, student can keep the track of every apps and be organized.

What it does

Our app provides a platform where student can add Email URL, Canvas/Blackboard, LinkedIn, GitHub, Projects. In other words, this app will become a bottleneck to other apps/services. Also, our app provides a way where student can search other students and connect to them through their social media platform like GitHub, LinkedIn, ... We use Auth0 to make sure that our app remains simple, easy to use and accessible to everyone.

How we built it

We use React and MaterialUI to build the front-end and Auth0 to implement the login and security.

Challenges we ran into

This was our first Hackathon, and we had a trouble in communication, especially while using Git and version control to manage our projects. We also had difficulty implementing the backend of our projects.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of building an idea that would make students' life much easier in organizing the school's and projects and also promote connectivity.

What we learned

We learned a lot on how we should effectively communicate while working on a project and the importance of teamwork.

What's next for Student Portal

Our next plan is to use the corresponding apps on our platform and connect them with their API endpoints. That way students can manage everything all at one place.
