Inspiration
Nowadays, during home learning, students have started to give their health, and their academics decreased importance. This has caused both their mental and physical health to deteriorate. I built Student Portal so that students can be notified about sporting events and their homework assignments to keep learning and physical health in check. Sporting events would help them build social skill and boost their mood and therefore their mental health. Also, I've included special activities in the app which would help students with their mental health.
What it does
Student Portal is an app which allows students to keep track of their homework assignments from each of their classes and also receive grades. It also enables students to participate in local sporting events and become members of teams and clubs. This makes sure that students stay fit and develop social skills by meeting new people. The app also helps students who are going through emotional difficulties to do simple self-care activities for their mental well-being.
How I built it
I built this app by using the KivyMD framework in Python.
Challenges I ran into
The challenges I ran into were the time limit and the occasional errors while writing the code.
Accomplishments that I am proud of
I am proud of being able to deliver a finished app to the judges in the given amount of time.
What I learned
This hackathon allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the KivyMD framework in Python.
What's next for Student Portal
In the future, I would like to make Student Portal a web application with improved features such as better UI, real-time homework/grade updates, and a larger number of local sporting events.
