Inspiration We frequently encountered the problem of procrastination. After discovering the Pomodoro Technique, we decided to make a timer for it which can help with the big problem of procrastination.
What it does It runs Pomodoro sessions indefinitely (25mins of work, followed by 5 mins of rest)
How we built it There are two different screen layouts: the first one (a yellow background) displays the text “Work Period.” The second screen (a green background) can be accessed after clicking the “Open Calculator” button; it displays the calculator as well as the [continued] timer.
Challenges we ran into We all have different experiences with coding since some of us know other programming languages like Python or HTML. It took some time for us to agree on one language to make the program.
Accomplishments we’re proud of We are proud of creating this program because this program is beneficial for people of all ages struggling with the real world problem of procrastination. Many people struggle with concentrating and being productive because there are so many distractions in the world. The program helps cope with that. We are also proud of finishing the program on time since it was a pretty quick deadline, but we seemed to manage and work things out.
What we learned We learned how to build and reset a timer as well as a calculator. We also explored how to use buttons in P5.js.
What’s next for Student Pomodoro Timer We’re planning on adding more features to the timer, such as a notepad and customizable flashcards.
