Student OS – AI Study Companion

As students ourselves, we noticed how hard it is to stay organized, track study time, and focus on tasks. We wanted to create something that doesn’t just manage tasks but actually helps students study smarter, not harder. That’s how Student OS was born—a combination of smart task management and AI guidance. Student OS is a single-page web app that helps students get the most out of their study time. Students can input their current task, how much time they have, and their study goals, then receive personalized AI advice to stay focused and productive. It also tracks progress, suggests actionable steps, and provides tips to improve learning efficiency. We built the app using React for the frontend, Tailwind CSS for clean and responsive design, and Framer Motion for smooth, subtle animations. The AI assistant is integrated via an API, providing real-time study advice based on user input. Designing a single-page layout that’s both interactive and clean was tricky. Integrating real-time AI responses without slowing down the app was another challenge. We also had to ensure animations were smooth across both desktop and mobile devices. We’re proud of creating a fully functional AI-powered study assistant with a modern, interactive UI. The app works seamlessly on desktop and mobile, and all core features—from task tracking to AI This project taught us the importance of user-focused design, how to efficiently structure a single-page React app, and how to integrate AI in a way that feels natural and helpful. We also learned how subtle animations can enhance user experience without being distracting. Next, we plan to add user authentication so students can save their progress, collaboration features for study groups, and even more personalized AI recommendations. Eventually, we hope to expand to a mobile app version so students can study effectively on the go.
