Inspiration
Students often miss valuable opportunities not because they are untalented, but because the process is fragmented. Hackathons, internships, scholarships, and student programs are spread across different websites, each with different rules, deadlines, and submission flows. I wanted to build a product that helps students understand what fits them and what to do next.
What it does
Student Opportunity Copilot is a smart student planning platform that helps users:
- discover relevant opportunities
- check likely eligibility
- track deadlines
- prioritize important actions
- access official pages directly
Instead of forcing students to manage everything manually, the platform turns scattered information into a guided workflow.
How I built it
I built the project using React and Vite, with a custom interface designed to feel premium, interactive, and clear. The product includes a student profile flow, opportunity matching logic, eligibility-aware recommendations, deadline tracking, and a structured action timeline.
Challenges I ran into
The hardest challenge was turning a broad student problem into a focused and usable product. Another challenge was balancing a cinematic visual style with readability and practical usability.
What I learned
I learned that the most useful AI-style products are not the ones that only look intelligent, but the ones that reduce confusion and help users take action.
What's next
Next, I want to improve the intelligence layer with stronger recommendation quality, better eligibility reasoning, preparation plans, reminders, and wider coverage across student opportunities.
