Student Connect

Inspiration

A web app that aggregates class group chats and provides their respective discord links or any other links so students would not have to spam FB group pages asking if certain gc have been made yet. This would save time and eliminate the inefficiency of having students post on top of each other on FB.

What it does

Centralized app for students to interact and find group chats for classes.

How we built it

React, Firebase, Bootstrap

Connecting the frontend to the backend, and resolving problems with Firebase.

Accessing databases, learning more about React and other frameworks.

We learned a lot about Bootstrap, React, and how the backend connects to the frontend.

I worked on the back-end using firebase as our database. I learned how to write queries to the DB and fetch the necessary information to be displayed on the front-end. Throughout this process, I learned how to connect the frontend with the backend.

I worked on the back-end. I used Firebase Firestore as the database to dynamically display data from our back-end to our React components.

Alec Atienza
I primarily worked on the front-end. I learned how to use the React and Bootstrap frameworks for our landing pages. I also worked with Firebase to connect the front-end to the back end.

It was my first time working a lot with React, CSS, and Bootstrap, and I was able to learn a lot from this weekend. I mainly worked in the frontend, specifically with the class cards and the sidebar.
