Inspiration: We were inspired as fellow students by the community around us and how we can better ourselves by bettering each other.
What it does: Open up the site to sign up with the platform and it'll lead you to the actual platform. From there use the subgroups and topics to help you pick out just the right community.
How we built it: All of us had limited experience with any sort of web development so we resorted to the workshop, youtube, and our trusty friend google. We used mostly python but we integrated java, html for frontend work, and CSS.
Challenges we ran into: We had little to no idea what we were doing so it was for sure a learning curve. Sites didn't want to connect, we needed to research, and everything was a bit hectic but I'm happy to say we made it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: Though we didn't finish the whole project, I'm happy to say we're all walking home with good experience and a better understanding of Web Development as a whole.
What we learned: How to use APIs, React, and the fundamentals to Web Development.
What's next for Student Connect: After the event, we're hoping to actually further develop the site and try to get it up and running!
