Inspiration
Times are tough right now for everyone due to corona virus around the world especially students who can't access the education system reducing their overall productivity. This system should change all that in collaboration with teachers who sign up on the platform.
What it does
It enables teachers to create tests, homework and exams for students that are schedule to run at particular times. Students follow teachers and do their tests on platform, perfect for coaching, stay at home assessments, homework, tests and revision. It's highly automated regards realtime grading the moment students are done with test/exam It's web based so accessible to anyone with internet on every single platform, mobile, desktop, tablet...
How I built it
I was testing my php skills and then on noticing the deficiency in our education system in Uganda, endless paper waste in paper for tests and exams, high administration costs from grading/marking and administration/scheduling of tests. I decided to go for it
Challenges I ran into
Working alone wasn't a choice, there is a scarcity of people interested in developing areas of education in immediate environment, little to no funding makes it only worse. The database end of things and integration of php with queries of all sorts and U.I can get really complicated especially since I did this all alone.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I created exactly what I planned to create and I hope it helps people about there
What I learned
We need to work together to achieve what we desire as a society. I know there are a lot of talented and gifted coders out there and I think working together will make this world a better safer place for everyone if we work together for common good. Platforms like this one I created can't be of any use if people don't use them or contribute their great work to them sadly
What's next for Student assessment platform
If it gets a huge boost from people who use it, it's Gona get better and better from there, bigger development team and much better work done in service to our users. An open source initiative even possible
