Transforming Student Support with the ‘Student Advisory Agent’ on Salesforce

As a team of consultants and solution builders specializing in Salesforce CRM, we are driven by the mission to create impactful, real-world solutions through intelligent automation. During this AI hackathon, we set out to address a critical and often-overlooked challenge in higher education: the growing burden on student advisors. Across universities, student advisory teams are overwhelmed by high volumes of routine inquiries—from questions about course prerequisites and visa requirements to application deadlines and support services. These repetitive tasks consume valuable time and limit advisors’ capacity to provide personalized, strategic guidance that truly enhances the student experience. Recognizing this inefficiency, we envisioned an AI-powered solution that could live natively within the Salesforce ecosystem used by many educational institutions. We built the Student Advisory Agent using a 100% declarative, no-code approach by leveraging Salesforce’s latest AI Agent and Messaging capabilities. The agent was configured in Einstein 1 Studio, connected to a curated knowledge base and intent-driven prompts to handle common student queries intelligently. A Flow-based automation was created to capture student information from the chat and seamlessly convert it into standard Salesforce Leads. The logic for data capture, qualification, and routing was orchestrated through Omni-Flow, enabling dynamic decision-making and advisor assignment. Finally, the agent was deployed on a Salesforce Experience Cloud site using Embedded Service Deployment, with real-time engagement powered by Salesforce Messaging Channels for a seamless, chat-like user experience. By deploying this agent within Salesforce, institutions can leverage their existing CRM investment while transforming the way they deliver support to students. Our solution bridges the gap between human-centred advising and digital efficiency—empowering both advisors and students through intelligent automation.
