Inspiration
Having a study companion helps focus and boosts productivity, especially for students struggling with mental health and motivation. We seek to provide a quick, easy interface that students can use to find study partners, while also destigmatizing mental health issues and reducing loneliness.
What it does
A web app and (eventually) a mobile app to find and create study sessions on campus and find study partners.
How we built it
A web app using html, css, javascript, and external APIs, such as Google's Identity Services.
Challenges we ran into
Ensuring safety of users through proper authentication methods, ensuring ease-of-use, limiting potential for abuse, limiting non-essential features
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Making the process of finding a study partner more fun and engaging (through a ranking and leaderboard system), and tackling an overlooked yet crucial challenge for college students, particularly students who are struggling.
What we learned
More about college students' concerns, study habits, motivational tools. How technology can be used to make mental health struggles less daunting and easier to face.
What's next for StudBud
Implementing a complete ranking/leaderboard system, and creating an app for Android/IOS platforms, and providing further tools to help struggling college students.
