EMERGE previously named STRIVE is a powerful platform designed to empower Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in their journey towards export success. It is an online export readiness assessment tool that provides guidance and support to MSMEs as they evaluate their readiness for entering the global market. The name "EMERGE" embodies the essence of the platform, symbolizing the spirit and determination necessary for MSMEs to excel in the global marketplace.

Export Readiness Assessment Tool: A comprehensive online tool that guides MSMEs through the export readiness assessment process. This tool collects essential data about business and evaluates its readiness for international trade. It covers various aspects such as market research, financial readiness, operational capabilities, and legal requirements. SMART SEARCH: It enables users to filter the MSMEs directory based on specific criteria. Users can refine their search by industry, country of origin, target country of export, and category of inclusion. SMART SEARCH simplifies the process of finding MSMEs that align with specific preferences, making it easier for investors and customers to identify suitable businesses.

Category of Inclusion: EMERGE promotes inclusivity and supports various categories of inclusion within the MSME community. This feature allows users to select specific categories such as Indigenous People, Rural-Community Based enterprises, Persons with Disabilities, Veterans, Youth, and persons deprived of liberty. By choosing a category of inclusion, users can discover and engage with MSMEs that align with their values and contribute to fostering economic opportunities for underrepresented groups.

Database of Exporting Document Requirements: EMERGE maintains a comprehensive database of exporting document requirements. This database provides users with essential information about the necessary documents and processes involved in exporting goods or services. The database is designed to be flexible and easy to modify, allowing for quick updates in response to changes in regulations. This ensures that MSMEs have access to the most up-to-date and accurate information, enabling them to comply with the export requirements of their target markets effectively.

How we built it?

EMERGE is built using a range of Open Source technologies, ensuring a robust and flexible platform for its users. The technologies employed in developing EMERGE include:

  1. PHP with Codeigniter Framework: EMERGE utilizes PHP as the primary programming language and leverages the Codeigniter framework. Codeigniter follows the Model View Controller (MVC) architectural pattern, which provides a structured and modular approach to building web applications. This allows for better code organization, easier maintenance, and scalability.
  2. MySQL: EMERGE relies on MySQL as the database management system. MySQL is known for its scalability, performance, and reliability, making it suitable for handling large volumes of data. The convenience of EMERGE is that no signup is required. Users can simply use their own email address to log in and generate the OTP. However, please note that the sending of OTP through email is not enabled by default as it is solely for demonstration purposes.
