Inspiration
If you've been on TikTok in the past year, you've heard of "TikTok University". People are learning everything - from coding to personal finances - through 30-second videos. We noticed how much people want to learn and improve themselves, but they don’t always have structure or accountability. So we built Strive: your own personal, bite-sized university that lives right in your browser. Whether it’s “learn UX design in 4 weeks” or “fix my morning routine”, Strive turns any goal into a gamified, AI-powered learning journey.
What it does
Strive takes your goal and builds you a mini course to keep you motivated. Every time you open it, it greets you with your daily class and goals. It’s basically a crossover between Duolingo, Notion, and a motivational friend.
How we built it
We built Strive as a Chrome extension using Google’s Prompt API (Gemini Nano) - meaning it runs fully on-device, private and offline-friendly.
Challenges we ran into
Getting the Prompt API to work took us a while, as it was completely new to us.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We got the API fully working. The chatbot actually streams in real time. Our curriculum generator outputs real, usable “classes".
What we learned
How to use a promptAPI and make an AI application
What's next for Strive
Working on the lesson plans for strive and spending more time on gamification.
