Inspiration:

String Theory was born from the idea that ambition often comes wrapped in contracts we don’t remember signing. I wanted to explore the slow, unsettling realization that the life you’re chasing might be the cage you built yourself—and that the real puppet master may not be who (or what) you think.

What it does:

String Theory is a retro-futuristic musical thriller set in an 80s neon-noir skyline. It blends corporate gothic visuals with supernatural horror to tell the story of a rising star who discovers the true cost of their success. Every frame is a clue. Every lyric is a warning. It’s a short musical film where control, power, and identity unravel one thread at a time.

How we built it

Challenges we ran into: It was really hard to tell the story I was envisioning in my head about the strings attached to certain agreements as well as the repercussions involved and the people it effects indirectly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of: I feel like despite the complex nature of the meaning behind the song, I was able to overcome a lot of those challenges and still tell a good story through the video. This was also my first attempt at a psychological thriller (esp in music video form).

What we learned: Patience is key. Sometimes you find your way through simply creating.
