This project was created with the inspiration of certain individuals being frustrated with receiving consistently generic stress relief suggestions.
What it does
The app takes information from a user based on a personality identification questionnaire and outputs the most relevant and recommended courses of action to remedy their stresses.
How we built it
We built it mainly on Android Studio, importing features from sources like Google Maps and Youtube in order to better serve the user and provide a truly personalized result.
Challenges we ran into
A large challenge our team ran into was the wide scope of possible personality types and the different possible ways in which those personality types could react to different forms of stress. It was difficult trying to combine a person's personality type with their stress type to provide a personalized output for a recommended course of action.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Despite the challenges we faced as well as the time constriction, we are all very proud of the fact that we were able to get a project out and running.
What we learned
Through this experience, we were able to learn how to work with importing several third-party features into our app and create a visually pleasing application.
What's next for StressLess
A possible next step for StressLess is to create a physical component so as to monitor post-assessment the stress levels of the user. Sensors would probably be used to analyze and track any changes in prolonged resting heart rate, so as to monitor if the recommended courses of action were indeed accurate. In the case of inaccuracy, a re-evaluation would be recommended and our algorithm would be improved.
