Inspiration
As juniors juggling many AP classes, we have experienced numerous struggles with burning out and deprioritizing out mental health for studying. We realized that although school work is important, it is essential that we complete it in a manner that doesn't throw our health and well-being out of the window. We also wanted to create something that would battle procrastination, which we believe adds to our stress.
What it does
Our website provides a pleasing, aesthetic, timer that allows the user to study and take breaks on intervals. It also allows for them to embed their spotify playlist, create a to-do list that they can check off as they work, and take notes that save.
How we built it
We started with the pomodoro timer, then we kept adding on separate features that we thought would improve the product.
Challenges we ran into
Since we had many different ideas, combining into one project was a challenge. It was also hard since neither of us have worked much with web development. We had to read many articles and documentations to learn the specifics and review what we learned from the workshop to fully execute our goal.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of having a functional and useful product that we believe will help students lead a better life. Not only will this help their mental health, it is also a productivity booster.
What we learned
We learned that you can't just work on separate features and put it together in the end. You need to look at the big picture constantly to make sure the entire program runs smoothly when put togerther.
What's next for Stress Reliefe PomodoroPro: Productivity Hub
We hope to add more features such as sound effects, tags to sort to-do list items, customizing the colors of the website, and adding customizable time intervals.
