StreetCleaner

StreetCleaner is a local street preservation concept that gives volunteers the opportunity to clean their local streets for rewards in the form of gift cards or charitable donations.

Inspiration

It seems like everywhere you look there appears to be trash scattered throughout the sides of roads. I believe a system of rewards would entice volunteers enough to keep our streets clean. I have been teaching myself HTML/CSS/MySQL and wanted to create a website with a functioning username and password system which is stored in my MySQL database.

What it does

Unfortunately, despite my progress, I was unable to finish my intended goal for this hackathon. My submitted project is simply a multi page-website displaying a concept to keep our streets clean.

How we built it

I used VSCode along with HTML/CSS to create everything that is seen in my project.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge I ran into was finding a way to turn create a MySQL query that takes in input from my HTML form. Most of my research led me to PHP, which I do not have any experience with YET.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of my growth as a website designer as I was able to create my website and reinforce my skills without using any of my notes/etc.

What we learned

I learned a lot about creating/maneuvering around MySQL, along with a better understanding of the challenges I currently have with my personal projects.

What's next for StreetCleaner

To get the username/password system working!
