Inspiration

Primarily intended for tourists or beginner drivers that are unfamiliar with confusing street parking signs. Also provide recommendations for anyone looking for the best parking spots near a location.

What it does

Our website takes in an uploaded image and analyses it, providing information about what the sign means. We also have our recommendations for parking places near your location based on collected information in the database.

How we built it

We used html, css and javascript for our frontend and we used python implemented with the Flask module as our backend. We used Google's Gemini API to analyse the uploaded image. We used MongoDB as our online database deployed with Railway.

Challenges we ran into

A big challenge was integrating our frontend and backend, as well as connecting our database.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of being able to complete a project on time as we were in shambles halfway through Day 2.

What we learned

We learnt how to integrate front and back end using some widely used/available frameworks.

What's next for parking please

We need to make it accessible for mobile, as well as extend the functionality to include the location based recommendations.
