StreekApp

Due to the rise in Immorality and the youth developing bad habits I decide to rid the society of addictive habits by using streekApp a habit tracker app, revolution in the palms of your hand.

Inspiration

Actually, its due to the rise in addictive habits like: excessive phone usage, social media addiction, addiction to pornography and mast.urbati0n also lack of reading plans too and it seems like a norm in the society at large. so on a faithful day I decided to build an app to help people stop these certain habits and on March i started building StreekApp and now were in version 1.2 and im about to rollout version 2.0 and yes its helping people like me

What it does

So Basically, Streekapp is a habit tracker used to track and monitor or cultivate new healthy habits or to stop certain bad habits, it also gives you a streekPoint on each accomplishment to motivate you to do more.

How we built it

I employed the use of Javascript React and state mangement library (Redux). i also bundled it both as a PWA and an android app which I listed on the Google Playstore.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge i ran into was that initially, everything was stored locally but due to the fact i now bundled StreekApp PWA as a mobile app made it hard for users to transfer their streeks to the mobile app, but i fixed it by setting up an optional cloud feature that lets you sync two platforms using your email, Also I have a challenge of funding so i can make this app available to IOS users too ad an app

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I have had 26 active users so far and i'm so happy that i am helping people get rid of unhealthy habits and my actual aim for building this app i actually being actualized.

What we learned

I learned about using ReduxStates in ReactJs, I also learnt that having a community to moderate your workflow is a really helpful one as it facilitates your growth exponentially its been an exciting journey so far honestly, especially as I do what I love best

What's next for StreekApp

So I plan on scaling it and adding features like Cloud Sync, Public Monitoring, Analytics graph and many more basic features like push notifications and maybe a community for mental health support and maybe a smart watch platform
